Scott, Scotty's and Scottsbluff!!!

The past few months we have been trying to find the perfect time to make the trip to Scottsblulff, NE to visit Alex's grandpa and Briton's great-grandpa Teef. Because I had last Monday off for President's Day, we decided that this four day weekend was a great time to make our venture to the good ol' Panhandle.

Alex lived in Scottsbluff until he was about six years old, so he had a lot of things from his childhood that he wanted to do/show me! Some of the things that we did were planned, but some of them were definitely not! These things included - driving by Alex's childhood home, visiting Grandpa Teef and other relatives, eating lunch at Scotty's, spending the night in one unforgettable motel, hiking the Scottsbluff National Mounument, enjoying some prime rib and German potato salad, meeting up with some old family friends, and taking a four generation Ehly men photo!

It was a fun weekend spent with family, and we were so happy to be able to spend some quality time with Grandpa Teef! Briton even did a great job in the 7.5 hour car ride each way!

Months 2 & 3!!!

Well….it’s that time again!!! Our little dude turned 3 months old on February 2. He is growing and growing and nothing seems to be stopping him. I didn’t get a chance to write a blog when he was 2 months old, so I thought I would just combine the last two months. Briton is getting such a little personality, and I have become that mother that carries around her phone just to show off all his pictures. There have been some wonderful things that have happened in months 2 and 3, and some not so wonderful things, but we’ve built some great memories that we will cherish forever.

So here is a recap of Briton Philip Ehly’s 2nd and 3rd months of life:

1. He celebrated his first Christmas with lots of family, and helped both mom and dad celebrate their birthdays.
Christmas Eve Church Outfit!
Christmas PJ's.

2. He’s been spending lots of time on the floor doing tummy time and his neck is getting stronger every day.

3. He has discovered that his hands belong to him and now he can’t keep them out of his mouth.

4. He got his first set of shots and he did such a good job! He cried for a like a minute and that was it – I think I was more scared then him!

After his shots...such a good boy!!!

5. He started sleeping through the night, then we moved him out of the bassinet into the crib and he decided he couldn’t sleep through the night in such a big place. He’s been in the crib for about a month now, so he’s getting a little more used to it.

6. He started daycare!!!! I cried everyday on my way to work for the entire first week he was there! Thank goodness his daddy takes him to daycare because I don’t think I could have left him there.

Just chilling at daycare - it sure tuckers me out!
Hanging out with daddy every morning while he gets me ready for daycare!

7. He got a pretty nasty cold and it took him over a week to get over it!

8. He started to coo, talk, laugh and smile all the time. He is a pretty happy little boy and I love making him laugh.

 9. He attended his Uncle Jason and Aunt Stacie’s wedding. Not only did he attend, but he was one of the ring-bearers. Cutest little buddy ever – of course I am extremely biased!

10. He recognizes his mom and dad, and he knows our voices. If we come into a room and he sees or hears one of us, he instantly smiles.

We can't get enough of our little guy! He makes each day a little better and makes me want to be the best I can be! I can't wait to see what the next two months have in store for our precious boy!
 Love you so much Briton!
