#jefflovesmolly

Alex and I flew to Colorado this passed weekend to celebrate the nuptials of my friend Molly and her new husband Jeff! Our anniversary was on Wednesday (3 years – Wow), so we decided to make a little mini-vaca out of the weekend! Side note - this was the first time I had ever been away from Briton overnight - it was hard to leave him behind, but I knew he was well taken care of with my parents!

We got into Denver in the afternoon on Friday and spent the evening downtown walking, shopping, and dining. It was so nice to have the night all to ourselves and not have to worry about what Briton was up to. And…to top the night off, we ran into this little doozy:

Lucky Me!!!

Saturday morning we met up with one of my besties, Crystal, and drove to Boulder to get ready for the wedding. The wedding was at a delightful little farm - where all the planning and decorations were amazing and so “Molly!” It was so wonderful to get together and see old friends! Congrats to Jeff and Molly!

…….And one of the best parts of the whole weekend - was coming home to this face!!!

Briton - Months 7 & 8

Mr. Briton you sure have become a silly and wild little dude! You have changed so much recently that I can't even believe you were that little 7 pound baby we met in November! The last two months have been spent following you around, trying to keep our eyes on your every move, starting to baby-proof, and saying, "No, Briton don't do that." It started out okay with you just rolling around everywhere, but the last month you have been crawling and climbing/pulling yourself up on everything. I know you are just exploring, trying to figure everything out, but it is a lot of work for me and your daddy. I have come to dislike changing your diaper or clothes - not because of what is in the diaper, but because you will not sit still. It takes longer for me to constantly keep flipping you over to your back then it does to actually change your diaper. :)

You have been sleeping through the night for quite a while now and my favorite part of the day is when you wake up in the morning or from a nap and I turn on the light - there you are standing in your crib with that adorable smile of yours. You got your two bottom teeth!!! They are so cute, but a couple of times you have forgotten they were there and you bit your finger pretty hard. You love to eat, especially fruit, I usually have to hide vegetables in your fruit - gotta get those veggies!

Briton you are so curious about everything. You stare so intently at things and get distracted by everything. You love to clap your hands and hit your hands on everything: the wood floor, the wall, your foot, my leg and my personal favorite - your belly.

You have also been a busy guy the last two months. You have traveled to lots of different places to see family and attend weddings. You celebrated both Mother's Day and Father's Day (You got us both some pretty nice gifts). You went for your first swim!!! And you have gotten to stay home and spend the summer with me! Briton - I love watching you and seeing what new things you come up with - can't wait for next months discoveries!

You Can Find Me in St. Louie...

So far 2013 has been the year of weddings for our family. We have had a ton of fun celebrating Love & Marriage over the past few months! (Congrats again to all of our friends and family who have tied the knot so far in 2013... Jason & Stacie, Nick & Amy, Jason & Amber and Tim & Lindsey!!!)

Tim & Lindsey were the last couple to get hitched and they did so in St Louis, so we decided to make a mini-vacation out of it. I had never been to St. Louis and it's always exciting to check out a new city. We headed out on Wednesday (my last day of school) to make an overnight pit stop in Kansas City to break up the trip a little bit for Briton. Thursday morning we got up early & ironically headed East to the "Gateway of the West."

Thursday was a pretty relaxing day as we waited for the rest of my family to arrive. Once everyone else showed up early that evening we decided to take Briton down to the pool to swim for the first time. From the way he reacted to the water, I am pretty confident that we don't have the next Micael Phelps on our hands.

On Friday, we headed to check out the Gateway Arch and smushed ourselves into the tiny pod for our 4 minute climb to the top to check out a pretty awesome view of the city.

After leaving the Arch, we headed across the street to the Old St. Louis Courthouse to marvel at it's architecture &  read up on some of the history of the city.

From there, we went and checked out the very famous Budweiser Clydesdales hanging out in their stables at the Brewery.

Saturday was wedding day! Tim & Lindsey had a beautiful ceremony followed by an awesome reception at a cool little art gallery. It was so great to get to see all of my family and I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time!

... in case you are wondering - we never did see Nelly.

Pics of Six!

I have started to realize that this blog is beginning to turn more into a scrapbook of Briton's life, but that's OK with me! We have reached the halfway point in year number one & and it is definitely bittersweet. I am already starting to miss so many things he did in the first 6 months, but I am looking forward to watching the months turn to years.... but not too quickly!

Below are a few of our little man's six month photo's.
